How to get useful answers from the assistant, and what to expect when it does not answer.
How to ask
- Name the plant. If you have several plants, say which one: by name, even in part, or by serial number. If you do not, the assistant asks you.
- Give a period. "Yesterday", "this week", "September", "from 1 to 15 July". With no period the assistant picks the most obvious one, usually today.
- One thing at a time. "How much did I produce in July?" works better than "tell me everything about the plant". For the full picture there is the period report.
- Ask for the big answers by name. Period report, euro estimate, installed-base status and diagnosis only start when you ask for them explicitly.
What to expect
- The assistant answers with what it reads. If a figure is missing, it says so; it does not make it up.
- It declares a problem only when a check says so. Sentences like "the figures do not add up", "check failed" or "plant degraded" come from a specific check. Outside those cases it gives you the numbers and leaves the judgement to you.
- It gives no advice. Euro estimates and reports list facts and assumptions. What to do remains your decision.
- Answers may differ in form from one assistant to another (Claude, ChatGPT): the underlying data is the same.
Limits to know
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Power curves | A few days at a time (about ten at 15-minute intervals); beyond that, ask for totals |
| Totals over a period | Up to one year of daily rows in one answer |
| Energy balance check | Free windows up to 24 hours, or day, week, month |
| Euro estimate | Week, month or quarter only; days with no price are not valued |
| Installed-base status (installers) | Up to 200 plants |
| Battery state of health | The value declared by the battery, with no trend or forecast |
EMS Energy XL
For the EMS Energy XL family some information is not yet available. In particular the post-installation check can only return "inconclusive" and, for administrators, machine state and configuration cannot be read and settings cannot be changed. When a question touches one of these points the assistant says so and answers with the rest.
Privacy and access
- The assistant sees only the plants of your account and only with the commands of your role. A plant that is not yours comes back as "not found".
- The data goes through your AI assistant: the terms of use of the service you chose (Claude or ChatGPT) apply.
- To remove access, remove the connection from your assistant (see the "Connect your assistant" pages). Nothing else is needed.
If something does not work
- The assistant says it has no access or finds no plant. Check that the connection shows as active and, in Claude, that it is switched on in the conversation. If the problem persists, remove the connection and set it up again.
- It asks you to sign in again. This is normal after some time: sign in with your zeroCO2 account and carry on.
- It answers "not available" for a section. Data is missing for that period; try a different period or ask for a smaller detail.
- It cannot find the plant. Try a different part of the name or the serial number; if it is not linked to your account, it will not see it.
- In every other case contact zeroCO2 support with the question you asked and the answer you got.
