You need a paid ChatGPT account (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) and your zeroCO2 account. You connect from the browser, on chatgpt.com.
1. Turn on developer mode
ChatGPT accepts custom connections only with "developer mode" switched on. The name sounds demanding, but it is just a switch.
- Click your profile picture → Settings.
- Open Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings.
- Turn on Developer mode and accept the notice.
If you use ChatGPT with a company account, the workspace administrator has to allow custom connectors first. If you do not see the switch, ask them.
2. Add the connection
- Still in Apps & Connectors, click Create.
- Fill in:
- Name:
zeroCO2 - Description: for example
My zeroCO2 plants - MCP server URL:
https://mcp.cloud.energyincloud.com/mcp(copy it exactly, including/mcpat the end) - Authentication: OAuth
- Name:
- Confirm. ChatGPT checks the address and takes you to the zeroCO2 login page.
- Sign in with your credentials, then click Allow on the summary page.
- You are back in ChatGPT and the connection shows as active. Click Create if you are asked to save it.
Use it in a chat
In a conversation click + and pick zeroCO2 among the apps, or type @zeroCO2 at the start of the message. Then ask your question, for example "which plants can I see?".
Menu labels may change slightly with ChatGPT updates.
Disconnect
Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors, open zeroCO2 and choose Remove (or Disconnect). From then on ChatGPT no longer has access to your data.
