The battery

Where to see what the battery is doing and how it went over a period.

Right now

In the Live system status panel of the Overview, the Storage block shows:

  • the state of charge, in brackets next to the name
  • the power in kW
  • whether it is charging or discharging

Clicking the block opens the battery detail: the resources with their status and a table with state of charge (SoC), power, voltage and current. With Module and Cell you choose whether to see the maximum and minimum temperatures and voltages per module or per cell, with the number of the unit that records them.

Over a period

In the Performance monitoring panel the battery appears twice:

  • under Energy produced, Battery charging tells how much production went into the battery
  • under Energy consumed, Battery self-consumption tells how much of your consumption was covered by the battery

In the Energy usage chart for a day, the Storage series is above zero when the battery charges and below zero when it discharges.

To follow the state of charge over time, open Analytics and tick SoC.

What is normal

  • Battery standing at 100% in sunny hours: it is full, the extra production goes to consumption or to the grid.
  • Partial charge on a cloudy day: with less production the battery charges less.
  • Battery discharging in the evening and at night: it is powering the house instead of the grid.

If the battery shows as faulty, see the page "Alarms: what you see and what to do".
